Healthy You: Squad Goals

In a day and age when we are sold on the lie that ‘bigger is better’ and ‘more is what matters’, we can easily deceive ourselves into believing that being well-known is the same as being well-loved. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. Crowds may applaud one’s charisma, but very rarely are they interested in the development of one’s character.  It doesn’t really matter how many people know our name, if there aren’t a few faithful souls who really know what’s going on in our lives. And when life throws us a tragic curveball, let’s be real, we don’t find comfort in how many people liked our latest post or showed up to our last event; we find comfort in the company of a good friend.

Figuring out how to have healthy friendships isn’t always the easiest, and for a lot of my twenties, I was sifting through the highs and lows of relationships to figure out the difference between toxic friendships and healthy ones.  For those of you trying to sort through the same thing, today’s video blog offers a few thoughts on what it looks like to add more health and less drama to your squad goals.

After watching, show some friendship love and tag a friend that you are grateful for and let us know why in a comment below!

Oh, I love love love this video, Nicole! Actually one of my #squadgoals friends introduced me to you and as I watched this video I couldn’t help but tear up a little because of how God has been refining my friendships, taking away some I valued that weren’t His best and revealing new ones that were better suited for this season of my journey. As a relational person who loves those around me and being in community, I have loved how the Lord has shown me such wonderful friends and how to be one for those in my life. Keep shining His light! God Bless!
