Christmas In New York and Exciting Renovations

christmas update

I hope you enjoyed your Christmas and ate way too many cookies and watched way too many Christmas movies!  Ben and I spent Christmas Day sleeping in, exchanging gifts, Face Timing with our family, watching movies in our pajamas, and then heading over to Paul and Andi’s (our dear friends and pastors) for Christmas cookie decorating and good conversation, good food, and even better company.  It was fun to laugh, reflect, and make new memories.  And yes, you better believe we ended the night back at home wearing the matching flannel pajamas my mom sent us while watching yet another movie.

Our first Christmas as married folks in New York was pretty close to perfection.  It was low-key, casual, relaxing and filled with laughter and loved ones.  Ben and I ended Christmas Day looking at each other in sheer amazement, saying how blessed we were and how much we have to be thankful for.

I hope your Christmas was filled with people you love and new memories to treasure.  I hope as you reflect on this past year and look back on all the ups and downs, the struggles and triumphs, the setbacks and the breakthroughs, the goodbyes and the hellos, the familiar and the new, the expected and the surprising, that you see God’s love in every thread and that you move into 2018 full of hope.

2018 is going to be a big year!

I can feel it, and Ben and I are busy prepping for it. Ben is taking the rest of this week away from the office to plan and strategize for The Smithee Group’s biggest year yet.  And I am working from home, beginning to create new leadership development programs and tools for my church, Liberty Church.  I’m also (if you’ve haven’t noticed yet) upgrading my whole blog site, with new branding, new blogs, new sermons, and new video series.  I’ve also added new content and branding to my youtube channel.

I hope you enjoy the new look and feel of this site!  There are a few things you can expect from www.nicolesmithee.com in 2018.  First, you can expect weekly blogs and videos, as well as regular updates.  And more importantly, you can expect:  Real conversations. Practical wisdom. Personal inspiration.

I hope you read my latest blogs, “Why I’m a Fan of New Year’s Resolutions and How to Keep Them” and “7 Signs He’s Dating Material.”  I also uploaded new sermons and began a video series to provide you with practical leadership development.  You are called to do great things, and I want to help you develop into an even stronger leader this year!  Check it out, and please leave comments or contact me here to let me know what topics you’d like to see me blog about, video about, or preach about.  Thanks for subscribing to nicolesmithee.com.  Together, let’s make 2018 our best year yet!
